Pre-trip Jitters

snow -14 °C

All the planning is done.
All the accommodation is booked.
All the transportation is booked.

Now .. to deal with the nerves of travelling on my own for the first time.

It started as a one week trip to the Auvergne in France to ride Rocky Mountain horses in the mountains with 'les.pres.dallys'. It has since morphed into a 2 month trip encompassing 4 countries; France, Italy, Austria and England. The trip has inadvertently become somewhat of a 'bucket list' trip as I expanded it to include some of my 'must see/do' experiences. You know how it is ... "Oh, since I'll be that close to 'XXXX' then I might as well spend extra time and see 'YYYY' ".

I'm trying to pack 'smart' for this trip ... taking a selection of mix and match quick dry clothing and purchasing toiletries and other items as needed along the way. As the first week of my trip involves staying in a gite on a horse farm and riding everyday, I also need to take riding clothes and riding boots ... luckily, my short top riding boots will also double up as hiking boots.

Today marks the 2 month count down to my departure date. I'm trying to concentrate on work at the moment, but it's becoming harder to do as the trip approaches. I'll write again on departure day ... unless of course, something crazy happens in between !

I can't wait until that day! Good plans make a perfect journey. It's going to be okay to travel on yourself!
It'll be a more interesting journey :)
