Nice History from a Bostonian :)

This morning I met Dana Kennedy. She is a journalist and has worked for the likes of CNN as well as several newspapers and news stations in the U.S. She moved to France 15 years ago with her partner and as well as continuing to write for various newspapers and magazines, she decide to start giving historical tours of Nice. Dana and I hit it off right away and seeing as I was the only person booked for that day, she and I chatted about everything from soup to nuts with some history thrown in. I had a great day with her.

May 1 is the equivalent of Labour Day here in France. Many shops are no open and everyone is out and about. The old town gets packed ! I decided to go to the little restaurant just downstairs from the flat called Mariette for some dinner. What a great little place ! I had a lovely fresh salad with potato pancakes and smoked salmon. Just perfect :)

Back to the flat to pack and get ready for my train trip to Genoa tomorrow ... Italy, here I come !
