5 Terre

There was a butal storm last last night, thunder and lightening, wind was very, very strong and window shutters were banging all night.  Not a good night of sleep.
I received an email from the Host of an AirBnB boating experience I had booked in Manarola to say that he had to cancel the tour due to the weather.  I said that was fine but I was still going there for the day.
I walked to the train station and caught the train to the Cinque Terre ... travel time was just over 2 hours. 
As we got closer to the destination, the weather cleared and it became sunny and warm.  By the time I got off the train it was bright sun, 23c, and the water was calm.  Kinda of annoyed now that the boat had been cancelled.  I bought a National Park ticket for 12 euros, which allowed me to travel by the regional train between all 5 of the towns in the Cinque Terre.  Only one of the 'cliff walks' between the towns were open  so I'm glad I got the train ticket.  It also gives you free access to the toilet facilities, which in Italy and France cost around 1 euro per visit.
I had a great time wandering though the various towns and doing the one cliff walk that was open.  Had the worst meal ever at a 'tourist trap' restaurant on the hillside in Manarola.
All in all, a fabulous day by the sea.  Highly recommend this place as an Italian destination.
Caught the train back to Genoa and promptly crashed.
