Amalfi here I come

Got to the train station in Florence a bit too early in the morning ... nothing to do, no cafe so played games on my phone.
Train to Naples was good ... only about 1 hr 30 min ... and they gave you drinks and snacks on board.
I hired a private transfer company to pick me up at Naples train station and drive me to Sorrento (about 1 1/2 hours).  Naples train station is well known for it's pickpockets and people trying to steal your luggage and purses as it's so incredibly busy.  My driver, Lara, was there as I came through the gate and she helped me to the car.
It was a lovely ride to Sorrento once we had cleared the traffic in Naples and I could see Mt. Vesuvius the entire way, towering over the Bay of Naples.
I was dropped off at the entrance to the 'pedestrian only' zone of Sorrento, took about 5 minutes to reach my next AirBnB.
The Flat was above a jewellery shop and had a private courtyard entrance from the street.  The outside stairs up to the door were pretty steep and there was no landing area to let go of your suitcase in order to unlock the door.
The flat was clean and bright, had a washing machine but no kettle.  The tiny espresso maker barely made a mouth full of coffee and even though there was a toaster, there were no outlets in the kitchette to plug it in to.  Toast would have to happen in the livingroom.
Made my way to the grocery store to stock up on essentials and then dropped in next door to a wine bar .... how convenient !
I still have a wretched cold and my eyes and nose are pouring all the time.  I've stopped using the kleenex and am now on to toilet paper. Every pocket in my pants and coat are full of tissue ... ugh ! .
I found a nice restaurant to have dinner at, in a lemon garden ... it was quite beautiful.  The waiter must have felt sorry for me as he asked if anyone was joining me.  I responded, 'No, I'm on my own' as my eyes are filled with cold tears and my nose is red as though I've been crying ... LOL !!!
Nice meal although I think I'm losing my taste ... more misery
Still, tomorrow is my bucket list item day !  I'm off to Pompeii to fullfill a lifelong dream.
