Path of the Gods

Woke up at 7:00am to the most beautiful looking day !
Decided not to waste it, so got ready and went up for breakfast around 9:00am.
Packed my water, camera's and sunhat, then headed to the start of the 'Path of the Gods'.  First however, I have to climb those stupid stairs from the BnB ... walk about five minutes and behold !  more flippin' stairs !!
These stairs number 150 steps and took you right to the start of the path.  The 'Path of the Gods' is a hikers dream .. I am not a hiker *LOL* ... but I heard the view were amazing.  It's 11 kms of ups, downs and slippery bits around the mountains until you reach the town of Bomerano.  From Bomerano you can take a bus back to Positano and then to any of the neighbouring towns you may have come from.  It's quite a tough go ... uneven, craggy rock stairs ... or no stairs and just loose dirt.  There may be a guardrail ... or not ... but mind you the rails were crudely put together and many were broken.  I met lots of people on the way, mostly going in the opposite direction and they had started in Bomerano.  To my surprise, over half of them were older ... most of them in mini hiking groups with their 'hiking poles' and boots.  They were in great shape !
Once I got to the halfway point around Colle Serra, I decided to turn back.  I wasn't in the best health to be doing that hike and I'd probably come farther than I should have.  All in all I did hike the full 11km just in a different way to most.
If I'm up for the other half, I'll start in Bomerano another day.
Stopped at the mini-market and picked up some Prosciutto and local cheese for lunch and headed back to the room.
After lunch, I thought I would head down into Positano by bus.  I have to catch the ferry to Capri tomorrow morning so I want to see where I should be getting off, closest to the harbour.
The bus only comes once an hour and a ticket is 1.50 euros one way.  I bought my tickets and waited. The bus ride was interesting.... remember the driving I told you about ... well the bus drivers are on steriods.  How we didn't die, I still don't know.
Finally got off the bus and found my way down to the beach.  It's not an easy navigation as the only way down is stairs or to follow the road until it eventually reaches the bottom.  Stairs it was !
I had a good nose around and decided to have dinner in Positano while I was there.  Not a bad meal ... a bit pricey but they really have got you in that area.  Back on the bus to Nocelle and a dark walk back to the room.
Tomorrow I'm off to Capri !
